The 1-minute read to get the money news you need.
Flying home for Christmas
Travel restrictions will be lifted on 15th December to allow people to visit relatives for Christmas. Travellers arriving in the UK from high-risk countries will still have to quarantine, but can end it early if they test negative after 5 days. The test won't be free though - estimates say it'll cost around £130-£180.
Cladding chaos
The government should foot the bill for removing flammable cladding from high-rise buildings, according to a group of MPs. The Commons housing committee says the £1.6 billion fund set up after the Grenfell Tower fire is not enough to cover all the costs. Some leaseholders are being forced to pay for essential work to remove the cladding from their homes.
Debt and tax strikes
Extinction Rebellion has declared a campaign of financial disobedience to expose the economy’s role in the climate crisis. The campaign group has urged its members to stop paying taxes and making debt repayments, and to take their custom away from banks that finance fossil fuels projects.
