Refunds for students?

Thousands of first-year students locked down in their halls of residence are demanding a refund of their tuition fees. The regulator, the Office for Students (OfS) said unis must consider paying refunds - but it could be a while. There’s still a backlog of student complaints dating back to March when the first lockdown started.

Boom won’t last

House prices will rise 2% this year, but stagnate next year. That’s according to a poll of property experts, who expect to see the current house price boom fizzle out after the stamp duty holiday ends. They’re also concerned that a rise in unemployment will mean people struggle to buy.

But the pandemic has taken a large bite out of sales, so it’s also warned that some jobs might be at risk.
