Young people have been hardest hit by post-furlough unemployment. 19% of 18-24 year old workers who were furloughed had lost their jobs by September, according to a new study from the Resolution Foundation. The data shows that black and minority ethnic workers were more likely to lose their jobs.

The trend of rising house prices continued into September, with prices now 3% higher than this time last year according to data from Zoopla. It seems to be driven by demand - many buyers are still waiting to complete, 140,000 more than last year.

HSBC could become the first high street bank to start charging for current accounts. It’s struggling to make ends meet after low interest rates hit its earnings.
